About SFR3

SFR3 is a boutique real estate investment fund acquiring $2.5B+ of single-family homes by 2024. We specialize in renovating distressed homes, using software-driven operations to scale a large number of smaller markets concurrently. In just over a year and a half, we’ve grown to 2k+ homes in over two dozen metros, and we’re continuing to expand at an accelerating place.

Your Mandate

SFR3 is different. Unlike other funds, our software automates work orders, payments, and other back office drudgery, enabling your teams to focus on renovating homes. You’ll put your leadership to work as a Regional General Manager, managing a large, distributed team in the field to deliver thousands of renovated homes each year. SFR3 wins when homes are delivered on time, on budget, and to our quality standard. Lots of people could make it happen with a few homes per year - can you make it happen with thousands?

There are three key pillars to your success:

Data-driven attention to detail. You’ll fully own the performance metrics for your region, responsible for the execution of tens of millions of dollars of renovation projects each year. You will hire, train, supervise, coach, and support a team of 10+ renovation managers, each of whom are managing between 5-15 jobs at a time. You’ll award, review, and approve dozens of projects, schedules, and change orders each week to keep the work on time and on budget. You’ll use data to make our system smarter; identify and implement process improvements to increase the capacity, speed, and quality of your team. We capture more information about the process than ever before - how can you make the most of it? What are the techniques, dashboards, and processes you will need to keep your trains running on time?

Human-centered leadership. Without your team in the field, nothing gets done. To succeed, you’ll need to provide leverage for a team of subject-matter experts and implementers with years and sometimes decades of experience in renovation, but often little comfort with technology. Magic happens when you combine your management and analytical skills with their industry experience - what’s your secret sauce? Can you translate your data-driven insights into action?

Entrepreneurial spirit. The catch all - the RGM is a strategist, analyst, product manager, operator, and people manager all rolled into one. To make things happen, you'll need to chart your own path to the solution and work across functional and reporting lines to make it happen.


About you

If this sounds like you, you might be a great fit:

  • 5+ years of tech-enabled operations / general management experience in high-growth, startup environments.
  • Empathetic, and can manage across all types of people and experience levels; experience managing remote teams is a plus; knowing how to motivate and lead is a must.
  • An operator's mindset. Others are happy thinking about a new idea; you’re already in execution mode.
  • Data-driven mentality - you 💛 spreadsheets! You analyze, dashboard, and pivot-table your way through problems. You’ll use data to continually sharpen our renovation operations and flag problems before others even know they’re there.
