About SFR3

SFR3 is a boutique real estate investment fund acquiring $2.5B+ of single-family homes by 2024. We specialize in renovating distressed homes, using software-driven operations to scale a large number of smaller markets concurrently. In just over 2 years, we’ve grown to 4k+ homes in over two dozen metros, and we’re continuing to expand. As part of our growth, we’re looking for someone to help grow our capacity to maintain the high quality and standards that have made us so successful.

Your Mandate

As Renovation Estimate Manager, you will play a crucial role on a small team that creates incredible leverage: the central point of trust where we rely on experienced eyes to review, modify, and approve millions of dollars worth of work. You’ll be responsible for ensuring quality and standards are met at every step of the process, from our initial bids to the final signoff before a tenant moves in or the property changes hand. We do business differently than many of our new hires and contractors are used to - it’s why we’re successful and why we can move fast. But no matter how advanced our technology and processes, we’ll need your expertise to tie it all together.

There are three key pillars to your success:

  1. Attention to detail. Nothing slips by you. You know the spec like the back of your hand and when something isn’t quite right, your eye is drawn to it immediately. Whether it’s the number of sqft of countertop not seeming quite right, to the color of paint in the garage being the wrong shade of grey, you catch it. That patch covering up water damage, that little crack hiding $5,000 of damage? You’re all over it.

  2. A questioning attitude. Just because it’s to spec doesn’t mean everything makes sense. Why are we accepting a change order for a backordered custom door when a skilled carpenter can fix it next week? Why are they calling for metal when PVC would satisfy the building code? You’re creative, knowledgeable, and confident when it comes to finding the best way to meet the high standards that our budget, timeline, and quality bar calls for.

  3. Speed and efficiency. We are growing rapidly, and so are our budgets. You’ll need to be organized, quick, and decisive to manage the throughput of approvals that we need in order to keep our builders building.

About you

If this sounds like you, you might be a great fit:

  • 5+ years renovation experience, preferably in the Single Family Rental industry
  • Experience developing and reviewing 100’s of estimates, scopes, and work orders a month
  • Home inspection experience, training experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
