SFR3 is a boutique real estate investment fund that will acquire and renovate more than $3B worth of single-family homes by 2024. The Fund renovates distressed homes using software-driven operations to scale dozens of markets concurrently with a lean, nimble team. Today the Fund owns 11,000+ homes in 30+ metros, and its portfolio growth is among the fastest of any fund of any size in the country.

About the team

The Properties team’s mandate is to get SFR3’s homes rented to tenants with speed, quality, at a scale of thousands/year. This includes everything from leasing & collections, to activating utilities and efficient turns. The team is fully remote, with software organizing resources across HQ & the Field.


You are a “hands on” entrepreneurial operator, understanding that massive, step-change improvement only happens when you pair data-driven insights & sound strategy with old fashioned roll-up-your-sleeves-and-do-it tactical execution.

What you’ll do

After a one-time effort to activate utilities for a few thousand homes this year, our focus will shift to using data to ensure we pay what we’re supposed to, detecting anomalies quickly, and automating transfers during turns. This will require plenty of raw, front-line execution in order to get things off the ground. As a scrappy operator, no task is too mundane or trivial if it produces results - and managing teams of operators to quickly and efficiently achieve enormous scale. Your Responsibilities

  • Manage utility transfer operations during tenant move-in/move-outs, including online account management and billing for thousands of homes in SFR3’s portfolio – you will own the KPIs of the business function
  • Build Standard Operating Procedures for operator teams to improve the speed, cost and quality of SFR3’s utility activation and billing procedures
  • Implement process improvements for utility bill-pay and tenant onboarding operations to ensure seamless handoffs of billing responsibilities and minimize utilities costs – no exceptions get past you without a resolution!
  • Build relationships and interface with our 3rd-party vendors to ensure that quality standards for maintaining our homes is never sacrificed
  • Provide insights on the team’s performance to identify gaps and prioritize workflow improvements that will keep things running silky smooth
  • Report weekly KPIs and progress on strategic initiatives to SFR3’s leadership
  • Partner with SFR3’s product and ops teams to execute on new strategies focused on automating manual activities and supporting the fund’s growth goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects/programs in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from data
  • Excel/google sheets and data analysis proficiency is a must
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at one time with competing priorities
  • Experience leading distributed support teams or contractors is a plus
  • Comfortable in rapidly changing environments, willingness to take on challenges
  • SFR/real estate/utilities experience very helpful but not required
