About SFR3

SFR3 is a boutique real estate investment fund acquiring $2.5B+ of single-family homes by 2024. We specialize in renovating distressed homes, using software-driven operations to scale a large number of smaller markets concurrently. In just 3.5 years we’ve grown to 8k+ homes in over two dozen metros, and we’re continuing to expand. As part of our growth, we are looking for a skilled Property Preservation Manager to help us maintain properties that we have acquired before they are renovated.

Your Mandate

SFR3 is rapidly expanding its operations. Your mandate will be to preserve the integrity of our properties before they get renovated by ensuring they are safe, well-maintained and code-compliant.

You'll have to:

  • Know your market back-to-front by regularly checking-in at our properties to ensure they are safe and secure - if they’re not, then fix it!
  • Act quickly and thoroughly to fire-fight - think burst pipes, flooded basements, squatters, code enforcement deadlines, racoon latrines
  • Create lite scopes of work for pre-reno projects - for example, fixing siding, replacing gutters, addressing peeling exterior paint
  • Build and supervise an extremely reliable network of contractors to complete small renovation projects, trash-outs and other remediation work
  • Be extremely organized, manage your time and prioritize - you can’t be everywhere at once!

And you’ll need:

  • An ownership mindset to all parts of the job
  • 5+ years of residential construction/inspection experience
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and HVAC
  • Knowledge of local and national building/property management codes
  • Comfortable interacting with code enforcement as a representative of SFR3
  • Able to use technology for communication and task management (email, Slack, Google Sheets, etc)
  • You can solve problems quickly and creatively
  • Strong written and verbal communicator and ability to work constructively with others
  • Hustle - you do what it takes to get the job done
